Pre-registration for LIHEAP (Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program) will be offered during October for Jefferson County residents within 130% of the federal poverty guidelines who are elderly (age 60 or over) or disabled receiving social security, SSI, pension or Black Lung benefits. Attention Bates Members! Help make the holidays a joyous time for families in need. Please nominate a friend or neighbor for the 2017 Bates Tree of Angels. Nomination forms are available at 620 Lampton or 1228 South Jackson. Please return nomination forms to BCDC no later than 10/31/2017.

October 14- 29: Common Table Job Training Program

Common Table is an 8-week job training program for those interested in obtaining the skills necessary to work in a commercial kitchen. To enroll students must commit to 8 weeks training, be 16 years of age, be interested in employment after completion and possess basic understanding of English. The Mission Minsitry asks that you keep them in prayer while they are traveling along with praying for what's mentioned on the Prayer Calendar to the left.

October 21: SWBC Women's Monthly Bible Study

The SWBC Women's Ministry cordially invites all women to our Monthly Women's Bible Study, 8:30am- 10:30am. This month's study continues to focus on prayer. Facilitated by: Min. Lisa Cox. Join us as we explore the impact of prayer.

October 21: Men Of Bates Chili Cook Off

Join the Men of Bates for the 2nd annuall Chili Cook Off. Come and enjoy great chili, tons of fun, and learn how you can be apart of the major renovations of the "Our House" Youth Ministry Building and Project Breckenridge. Bring your appetite as well as your time, talent, and treasures.

October 21: SWBC- Sista Strut Louisville Cancer Walk

Come join Sisters With a Boldness for Christ, at Shawnee Park (4501 W. Broadway, Louisville, KY 40211) for a 3K walk, as they partner with IHeartRadio, and Sista Strut of Louisville to recognize the srength of survivors & their families, promote early detection & raise awareness for breast cancer in women of color. "Get Hype for the 2017 Bates Memorial Hallelujah Party" Tuesday, October 31st, 6:00pm- 9:00pm. Fun & Safe for the entire family. No Scary Costumes! Capacity: 700 participants. Doors close at 7:00pm. So get in line early with your family. See you there!

Women's Bible Study : Hearts Reaching Hearts

There’s just something about studying the Bible with other women who are as serious with their relationship with God as you are. Hearts Reaching Hearts Women’s Bible Study will meet for breakfast and study on the 3rd and 4th Saturday of each month. Start time is 10:00 a.m. and we will meet in the Fellowship Hall at 619 E. Lampton location (Children’s Church). Come join us as we edify one another in Christ.
